Tesla launches mass delivery of its China-made Model 3 sedans

U.S. electric car giant Tesla Inc. formally kicks off the large-scale delivery of its China-made Model 3 sedans to the public on Tuesday at its Shanghai Gigafactory.

Tesla Inc. CEO Elon Musk attended the delivery ceremony and handed over keys of a Model 3 to 10 customers.

News of Tesla's large-scale deliverysent the stock prices of its Chinese suppliers flying on Monday.

On December 30, 2019, Tesla's Shanghai factory delivered the first batch of its China-made Model 3 sedans to 15 employees. The first internal delivery came less than a year after the plant began operations.
