Three participants were gored during the bulls running in the annual San Fermin festival in the Spanish city of Pamplona, Reuters has reported quoting the local Red Cross.
The annual fiesta is already in full swing, having begun on Thursday.
Two of the gored runners are US nationals, aged 29 and 35, and the third is a 46-year-old Spanish.
A bull's horns pierced one of the men in the thorax, while the other was gored in the head. The third was punctured in the scrotum. All three of them were hospitalized.
Another man, a 39-year-old from Ireland, was also hurt – although there was no mention of what type of injury he sustained.
The event was first made famous worldwide by Ernest Hemingway in his novel, “The Sun Also Rises.”
Millions of revelers participate in annual festival, which is most known for its bull running activity when hundreds of daredevils run in front of six bulls and six steers down the city's narrow streets.
The local government has warned potential participants to make sure they are well rested and prepared for the dangers which they plan to face.
The bulls were from cattle breeder Cebada Gago in Andalucia, who is renowned for rearing dangerous bulls responsible for the most injuries in the history of the San Fermin festival.
Last year's festival left a total of 11 runners gored.
