Cyprus received its third consignment of medical aid from China on Friday.

The seven-ton batch included 5,000 protective suits, 10,000 N95 masks, and 10,000 testing kits.

The Cypriot Health Ministry expressed its gratitude to the Chinese government in a statement, adding that China is helping the island's efforts to fight COVID-19.

China's Ambassador to Cyprus Huang Xingyuan announced the impending of arrival of aid in a tweet, soon after his account was restored following a suspension on Monday for violating Twitter rules.

The ambassador has requested from Twitter an explanation concerning the suspension, while reserving his legal rights to take further action, according to the embassy statement.

"On April 15, Twitter apologized for the inconvenience caused by the account suspension and explained that it was 'flagged as spam by mistake,'" the announcement said.
