According to recent reports around 20 people were killed and more than 300 were hurt on Tuesday in Pakistan’s Kashmir district.
The earthquake particularly affected the northern parts of Pakistan, including Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan.
Tremors were also felt in many parts of India, especially in the northern provinces.
According to the United States Geological Survey, the epicenter of the earthquake was 10 km southeast of New Mirpur, Pakistan.
Dawn, also quoted the Pakistani Prime Ministry expressing grief over the loss of life.
Reuter quoted Mirpur police chief Gul Faraz explaining, "Right now we have confirmed the death of 20 people and about 300 people are injured. That number could increase because some people are still being brought to the hospitals."
