Lebanese President Michel Suleiman on Tuesday refused categorically any entry of Syria's chemical weapons or chemical wastes to the country for disposal.

Suleiman made the remarks following a meeting with caretaker Environment Minister Nazem Khoury over the entry of chemical waste and weapons to Lebanon, according to a statement by the presidential media office.

On Monday, media reports said efforts have been exerted to " landfill Syrian chemical weapons in Lebanon," which Khoury considered as "testing the waters."

The minister denied reports of such circulated news, affirming Lebanon's rejection to such practices.

An international team of inspectors from the UN and the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons started on Oct. 1 a mission aiming at destroying Syria's arsenal of chemical weapons according to the UN resolution 2007 which stipulates the complete destruction of the Syrian chemical arsenal estimated to be around 1,000 tons by mid-2014.
