PM says government will not tolerate corruption

KATHMANDU, Aug 28 -- Prime Minister KP Oli has raised concern over the opposition's approach on the issue of local level tax, which he said has been blown out of proportion. Responding to lawmaker's queries in the parliament today, PM Oli PM urged everyone to understand that tax has been imposed to those who do business.

Brushing aside criticisms that his government was heading towards authoritarianism, he said that the goal of authoritarianism is to belittle the people's votes and mandate. On the occasion, PM Oli also assured the lawmakers that the government was taking steps to initiate action against those involved in causing artificial price hike in the market.

PM oli further stated that the government will neither indulge in any kind of corruption, nor will it allow others to do so. "The government will not tolerate corruption," he said.
