China's independently-developed C919 large passenger jet carried out its first taxiing test on a wet runway Monday in Nanchang, east China's Jiangxi Province.

The 105 prototype test aircraft of C919 took the test in Nanchang Yaohu Airport where four sprinklers sprayed the runway to simulate a wet ground environment at 1 p.m. BJT.

In order to fully guarantee the test flight of C919, first-batch members for field experiment recently resumed work at the Nanchang base after quarantine and body temperature check over the novel coronavirus outbreak concern.

The airport is the first of the country's C919 test flight bases to resume operation.

The wet runway taxiing test is of great significance for the C919 aircraft to obtain airworthiness certification. A series of experiments will be conducted in this airport in the future.
