The leader of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) Kim Jong Un and his wife on Sunday attended the first concert in Pyongyang by performers from the Republic of Korea (ROK) in more than a decade, Yonhap news agency reported, citing the ROK culture ministry.

The concert, by the 160-member ROK art troupe, came as the two countries prepare for a rare summit between their leaders on April 27.

It took place at the East Pyongyang Grand Theater after being delayed by two hours for the "convenience of more audience."

The troupe will perform again Tuesday at the Ryugyong Jong Ju Yong Gymnasium in Pyongyang.

On Sunday, taekwondo athletes from the ROK also gave a 50-minute performance before an audience of 2,300.
