Indian External Affairs Minister in China, Modi to visit soon

NEW DELHI, April 23 (APD) - India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived in Beijing on Saturday on a four-day visit to China.

India’s External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

She met her Chinese counterpart Wang Yi on Sunday and will be participating in the foreign ministers' meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation on April 24.

At the press briefing, Swaraj said, "My discussion with Minister Wang Yi was to prepare for the informal meeting between our leaders. It will be an important occasion for them to exchange views on bilateral and international matters with the objective of enhancing mutual communication at level of leaders."

Meanwhile, it has been announced that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be visiting China and hold talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping on April 27 and 28 in Wuhan city.

The announcement was made through a joint statement issued by the two ministers following bilateral talks.
