Tunisian entrepreneur Haroun Gharbi had a successful pizza business. But his ultimate goal? Gaming. The efforts of the CEO of startup company Polysmart has paid off.

It recently raised 600,000 US dollars to develop a new game, "Veterans Online".

Tunisian authorities are encouraging entrepreneurship, as many young graduates seize opportunities to start their own businesses.

Polysmart's fifth round of funding solely came from CDC Gestion, a fund firm formed between private investors and the government’s Deposit and Consignment Office.

The funds offer opportunities for Tunisian IT and gaming companies to expand their activities overseas and to provide job opportunities for young and talented Tunisian and African engineers. Polysmart will soon open an office in Dubai and Berlin to attract talented collaborators.

This new generation of skilled and independent Tunisians believe personal initiatives and startups could reduce the unemployment rate and ultimately boost the country's economy.
