U.S. state of Alaska sets new daily record for COVID-19 cases

There were 116 new COVID-19 cases reported in the U.S. state of Alaska on Sunday, the highest daily increase in the state, according to data from the state.

Ninety-three of the new cases were Alaska residents and 23 non-residents. The total number broke a previous record of 77 new daily cases reported by the Department of Health and Social Services the day before.

There have been 1,774 cases of COVID-19 in Alaska with 17 deaths. A total of 847 cases are currently active.
