At least 35 people were killed and 13 others injured in an air strike that hit a hotel north of the Yemeni capital of Sanaa on Wednesday morning.

The hotel is located in the Bait al-Edhari area of Arhab district north of Sanaa, which is home to the country's anti-government Houthi rebels.

According to medics and rescuers, 35 bodies have been pulled from the rubble as a search and rescue operation is still underway.

Earlier, a Houthi-run television station said at least 30 people had been killed.

The Houthis, who control Sanaa and northern Yemen, are fighting the internationally-recognized government backed by Saudi Arabia and its allies in the country's civil war.
