Chinese President Xi lands in Hanoi for state visit after APEC concludes

Chinese President Xi Jinping arrived in Hanoi Sunday noon to start his official state visit to Vietnam after the conclusion of the 25th Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) meeting in Da Nang.

It is Xi's first state visit after the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China (CPC) in October.

The visit is at the invitation of General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong and Vietnamese President Tran Dai Quang.

Xi will also pay a state visit to Laos following Vietnam.
