Five killed, 44 injured in Sri Lanka road accident

**COLOMBO, Nov.6 (APD) ** -- Five people were killed and several others sustained injuries following an accident in North Western Sri Lanka on Monday.

The Police said a passenger bus and a three-wheeler met with an accident along the Colombo-Puttalam road at Madurankuliya.

According to the Police at least 44 people sustained injuries in the accident.

Passenger buses and three-wheelers are often involved in accidents on Sri Lankan roads, mostly as a result of reckless driving.
