Anti-riot police arrested eight people on Tuesday after violence erupted at anti-labor law demonstration in the French capital, Paris prefecture said.

Clashes broke out between police and a group of 200 hooded youth who threw projectiles at servicemen, injuring three of them, while two of protesters were also wounded, it added.

At the clashes, eight individuals were detained for carrying weapons, violence and deterioration of public assets, according to the prefecture.

Thousands of people took the streets in French cities to contest the government's labor law that supporters say it's crucial to revive economy and create jobs. But, critics denounced measures which favour enterprises and weaken workers' rights.
