Patient with bubonic plague treated, discharged from hospital

The patient who contracted the bubonic plague in Siziwang Banner of Ulanqab City, north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was treated and discharged from hospital on Monday, according to local authorities.

The unnamed patient was diagnosed with the bubonic plague at a local hospital on November 27 and got timely and scientific treatment.

The patient's physical examination indicators and vital signs returned to normal and met the recovery criteria, said the Health Committee of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

To date, no new cases have been reported in Ulanqab City. The city will continue to carry out plague prevention and control work, including rodent epidemic monitoring, screenings patients for fever, rodent and flea eradication and information dissemination efforts.

A second patient, who was diagnosed with the bubonic plague in the city's Huade county on November 16, was treated and discharged from hospital on December 18.
