A giant "tower of books" weighing about 14 tons graces the campus of Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology in Xi’an, northwest China’s Shaanxi Province.

Eleven meters high and 2.5 meters wide, the "tower" is meant to symbolize the crumbling dominance of paper books in the face of rising digital devices, said its designer Zhao Haitao.
