**KIEV, Oct. 4 (APD) - **Five were killed in a crash landing of an Antonov 12 transport plane near Lviv airport in Ukraine early Friday.

Ukrainian emergencies ministry said the plane was boarded by seven crews and a cargo operator when the crash took place. The ministry did not elaborate further the cargo in the crashed plane.

The plane operated by Ukraine Air Alliance plane ran out of fuel before a planned stopover at Lviv, en route from Vigo in Spain to Istanbul, Ukraine's Infrastructure Minister Vladislav Krikliy said.

Prior to the crash, the plane vanished from radar at 07:10 local time (04:10 GMT) as it approached Lviv international airport. The plane was eventually known to have been crashed 1.5km from Lviv airport.

The crash has prompted Ukrainian authorities closing down the airport.

No fire was reported in wreckage of the plane as the crash landing was on soil and vegetation located near a football stadium and a cemetery.
