CPPCC members: No force can stop great rejuvenation of Chinese nation

There is consensus in Hong Kong over implementing "patriots administering Hong Kong," Choi Wong Ling-ling, a member of the 13th Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) National Committee, said on Wednesday.

Choi, also a member of the standing committee of All-China Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese (AFROC), made the remarks during a "Members' Corridor" meeting with the media ahead of the closing session of the 13th National Committee of the CPPCC in Beijing.

She also called for patriotic education among young people in Hong Kong to be strengthened.

Zhang Zongzhen, a CPPCC National Committee member as well as a member of Macao's Executive Council, stressed the role of "One Country, Two Systems" in the development of Macao when taking a question from CGTN's Tian Wei.

"No force can stop the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation," he said, stressing that "One Country, Two Systems" is the greatest example of democracy and freedom the central government has granted to the people of Macao.

Pan Xinyang, a CPPCC National Committee member and the secretary-general of Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League, said that reunification is the trend of history.

Regarding the prospect of integrated development across the Taiwan Straits, he expressed confidence the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) would bring more opportunities.
