Afghan history has turned a new page: Chinese MOFA

China's Foreign Ministry said Wednesday that a new page has been turned in Afghan history as the war-torn country is on the threshold of national peace and reconstruction.

China sincerely hopes relevant parties in Afghanistan will form an open and inclusive political system, pursue moderate and steady domestic and foreign policies and completely sever ties with all terrorist organizations, said ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin.

Wang's remarks came in response to a question about reports that the Taliban will announce a new government on Friday.
