S. Korean president Park Geun-hye on Monday met with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi at South Korea's presidential office Chong Wa Dae.

Park said South Korea devotes to deepen and enrich the strategic cooperative partnership among two nations, hoping to enhance high level exchanges and strengthen cooperation in practical fields with China.

Park thanked Chinese government and people for expressing condolence over the "Sewol" ferry disaster. She also said South Korea condemned the recent terrorist attack in Urumqi, capital of northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, suggesting the international community jointly fight against the terrorism.

South Korea appreciates China's constructive role in resolving the nuclear issue on the Korean peninsula and safeguard regional peace and stability, Park said, adding that South Korea also hopes to improve and develop ties with the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).

Wang said China insist on the goal of denuclearization of the Korean peninsula, willing to work together with South Korea to promote an early resumption of the six-party talks and bring the Korean Peninsula nuclear issue into a sustainable, irreversible and effective process of dialogue.

The six-party talks, which involve the DPRK, South Korea, Japan, China, the United States and Russia, was launched in 2003 but stalled in December 2008.

China thinks highly of the trust-building process proposed by Park, supporting South Korea and the DPRK striving for improving ties, said Wang.

As China and South Korea share a similar goal on national development, Wang noted, both sides should advance cooperation on strategic emerging industries and speed the negotiation process on China-South Korea FTA.

He specially suggested linking China's initiative of "Silk Road economic belt" and "Maritime Silk Route" with South Korea' s initiative of "Silk Road Express" to jointly explore new places for cooperation in Asia and the world.

Wang, who arrived in Seoul early on Monday for a two-day visit, also held talks with his South Korean counterpart Yun Byung-se in the day.
