7th Beijing International Art Biennale will launch in Beijing on Sept.24

The 7th Beijing Biennale under the theme of “Silk Road and World’s Civilization”, co-sponsored by the China Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the People’s Government of Beijing Municipality and the China Artists Association is expected to be exhibited in the National Art Museum of China on Sep.24, 2017.

This year is the 15th year of our exhibition, since we have so far held the Beijing Biennale successively for 6 times in 2003. The participating countries have reached from 45 to 102, the participating artists have totaled more than 4000 and the visitors have been more than 1 million during the past 10 years.

The participating countries of the 7th Beijing Biennale has for the first time surpassed 100, it makes Beijing Biennale the first art exhibition which participated by over 100 countries and demonstrates the expanding appeal and influence of the Beijing Biennale in the world. The exhibition also featured the charming style of modern international metropolis.

The exhibition attracts 567 artist and 601 pieces of artwork. Among them, 190 pieces are from mainland China, and 411 pieces from outside mainland China. 6 Special Exhibitions including Special Exhibition of Indonesia, Special Exhibition of Mongolia, Special Exhibition of Georgia, Special Exhibition of Greece, Special Exhibition of The Tour of Art from Tintoretto to Lilanga and Special Exhibition of Donated Artworks from Previous Beijing Biennales.

Those more than 600 artworks and distinguished art style was selected from ten thousands of artworks of thousands of artists from 120 countries. It is particularly worth mentioning that, in order to fill the current gap of large-scale theme art works reflecting the “Silk Road and World’s Civilization”, the committee organized domestic artists to complete two large-scale theme artworks: One is 6-meters-long Chinese painting"The new chapter of Maritime Silk Road", an 8-meter-long oil painting "The new chapter of Silk Road".

As a large-scale theme painting of the Beijing Biennale, the panorama of the artwork shows the new chapter of the ancient Silk Road under the guidance of the "One Belt One Road" initiative advocated by Chinese government in the 21st century.

The artwork shows great visions of China's river, Gobi, snow-capped mountains, desert, grasslands, and major elements of “One Belt One Road" initiative like Jiuquan satellite launch base, "Harmony"high-speed rail, Kanas thermal power plant, International Trade Market of Central and Western Asia(Kashgar), the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD),national highways of Pakistan, the starting point of the New Eurasian Continental Bridge, Pakistan's Gwadar port, the Vietnam dam built by China, the China Railway Express, the images of workers who built infrastructure, University of Nazarbayev, Kazakhstan, Confucius Institute, transportation for border trade, peace-keeping force, medical assistance to Africa.
