Music festival livens HK up on Youth Day

The city was on a live music spree Saturday night as the GimmeMay 4thDream Music Festival was held at the Central Waterfront Promenade on Hong Kong Island to mark the annual Youth Day.

Fancy singers and artists from Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan regions and South Korea stole the spotlight, wowing the crowd with their chic style and splendid performances.

The outdoor show co-organized by the Youth Committee of the Hong Kong Overseas Chinese General Association and the Asia Pacific Daily lasted for about three hours. It saw the presence of Hong Kong Chief Executive CY Leung and other special guests. More than 20 singers took the scene with good songs and hot dance, sending thousands of music lovers cheering and clapping to the beat of the melody.

Mainland pop star BiBi Chou, Zhang Yunjing, singer-songwriter from Taiwan, Kay Tse, local Cantopop singer, and Zhou Mi of South Korean band Super Junior M were music ambassadors for the acoustic feast.

Singer and ex-lead guitarist of Hong Kong band Beyond Paul Wong, Taiwan's Mandopop rock band Shin, and premier Cantonese singer Joey Yung were apparently the most popular with the audience. David Huang, Vincy Chan, Li Yugang, Jeong Jun ho, Super Girls, SugarClub and goldEN also performed at the event.
