7.0-magnitude quake hits 99km SE of Kuril'sk, Russia -- USGS

An earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 jolted 99km SE of Kuril'sk, Russia, at 1033 GMT on Thursday, the U.S. Geological Survey said.

The epicenter, with a depth of 163 km, was initially determined to be at 44.7 degrees north latitude and 148.9 degrees east longitude.
