**PARIS, Oct. 3 (APD) - **Regarded it as an economic and political mistake if the United States goes ahead with plans to impose sanctions over EU products in trade between the two economies, France Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire said that the nation would respond it firmly with its European partners.

The United States received green light from the World Trade Organization (WTO) ruling issued on Wednesday the nation could impose the tariffs as retaliation for illegal aid that the 28-country EU gave to Airbus in its competition with its American rival Boeing.

With the ruling the United States could target US$ 7.5 billion of EU imports over illegal subsidies for Airbus.

“A friendly resolution to the Boeing/Airbus dispute is the best solution, and all the more so given that Europe could impose sanctions on the United States next year,” Le Maire said in a statement.

Trump administration has announced that it will impose its sanctions on European imports from October 18 in a case involving European Union subsidies to the plane maker Airbus.

The United States administration planned to announce list of EU product items subject to its trade sanction in the near future.

The trade escalation with EU related to this issue will open a new chapter of trade war between the United States with other economies in the world after its trade tension with China, may lead to further economic recession in the world.
