None of the more than 40,000 medical workers dispatched to central China's Hubei Province to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak has tested positive for the virus, Ma Xiaowei, director of the National Health Commission (NHC), said at a press conference on Tuesday.

Ma was briefing the media on the progress of the work of the central leading group on responding to the new coronavirus outbreak.

The spread of the COVID-19 in Wuhan, the provincial capital of Hubei, has been basically curbed, said Ma, adding that over 63,000 patients have recovered in Hubei Province so far, with the recovery rate topping 93 percent.

In another news conference held in Wuhan on Tuesday, an official with the NHC announced that a tally of asymptomatic COVID-19 patients will be included in the daily outbreak report as of Wednesday.

By Monday, 1,541 asymptomatic patients were under medical observation in China, including 205 cases originating abroad, the NHC said in a statement on its website.
