On his first day in office, US President Joe Biden signed an executive order to halt construction of the U.S.-Mexicoborder wall.

Thewallwas a controversial campaign promise by former President Donald Trump, who wanted to make Mexico pay for it. Instead, the US government​spent billions,while Trump scaled back his grand vision for thewall and today,​the effectiveness of the portions completed are debatable at best.
