The hardline separatist leader of Indian-controlled Kashmir Syed Ali Geelani Tuesday condemned terrorist attack in Pakistani port city of Karachi and appealed Afghanistan Taliban supremo Mullah Mohammed Omar to use his influence to stop the terrorist activities of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) against Islamabad.

"I appeal Chief of Afghanistan Taliban Mullah Mohammed Omar that he should use his influence in stopping the terrorist activities of TTP against Pakistan and make them understand that they are axing same branch of the tree on which they are sitting," Geelani said in a press statement.

The TTP gunmen Tuesday targeted a security training camp outside Karachi city airport, evoking retaliation from Pakistani troops. The exchange of fire according to reports lasted for about an hour, following which gunmen fled from the scene. The terror attack on the airport's cargo terminal on Sunday left at least 38 dead, including the attackers from TTP.

Geelani, who is chairman of a separatist alliance Hurriyat ( freedom) Conference expressed grief and sorrow over the death of Pakistani soldiers and civilians during Sunday's attack and said the attackers were the worst enemies of Pakistan using name of Islam to carry out unjustified acts.

"If TTP is doing this willingly to implement the Islamic system in Pakistan then I want to tell them that Islam have neither spread through force in the past nor can this be implemented with the help of bombs and ammunition in future," he said.

Geelani said due to conspiracy of foreign powers and the sick minded people within Pakistan, the country was passing through the most difficult times of the history.

Geelani also condemned the killing of Shiite Muslim pilgrims in Pakistan's Balochistan province and described it as the worst kind of terrorism.

"The sectarian violence is the result of a big international conspiracy against the Islam and unfortunately some Muslim countries are also involved into these activities."

The senior separatist leader of Indian-controlled Kashmir has been condemning TTP militants for long and have termed their actions un-Islamic following their attacks on Shiite Muslims.
