Kenya records 10 more COVID-19 cases as total hits 384

Ten more people in Kenya have tested positive for the coronavirus, raising the total number of confirmed cases to 384.

Health Chief Administrative Secretary Mercy Mwangangi gave this update on Wednesday, saying nine of the new cases were recorded in Mombasa and one in Nairobi.

She said five more people had been discharged after testing negative for Covid-19, raising the country's total number of recoveries to 129.

The government said on Monday this week, restaurants will be allowed to re-open in the country, but under strict measures aimed at maintaining social distancing to prevent the spread of the pandemic.

Meanwhile, the number of coronavirus infections in 52 African Union Member States stood at 35,371 cases, 1.534 deaths, and 11,727 recoveries according to the Africa CDC tally on April 29.
