Police were investigating the cause of a car ramming into pedestrians in front of a department store in western Tokyo on Friday.
According to the police, seven people were injured when a car plowed into them in front to of a department store close to JR Kichijojo Station in western Tokyo at around 2:00 p.m. local time (0500 GMT).
The car, driven by a man in his 80s, came to a standstill once it struck a wall of a building close to the department store in the city of Musashino.
The police said the injuries sustained by the seven, who were struck by the car, were not life threatening.
Investigations into the cause of the collision were underway, the police said.
