China issues alert for rainstorms

China’s National Meteorological Center has issued a blue alert for rain covering Monday and Tuesday as storms are forecast to continue in various parts of the country.

Blue is the lowest level of China's four-tier color-coded weather warning.

In the southeast of the country, heavy rain will sweep parts of Anhui, Zhejiang, Jianghxi, Hunan and Yunnan provinces, as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region through Tuesday morning.

Some parts of these provinces are expected to see rainfall of over 50 millimeters.

Northeast China will also see thunderstorms and possibly gales.
