French Interior minister Bernard Cazeneuve called for "scrupulous respect by each country of the European Union of the Schengen rules," said a press release issued by French Interior Ministry Sunday night.

Cazeneuve's remarks came after that Germany decided to temporarily reinstate controls at its borders with Austria due to the large influx of people in need of protection.

"It is lack of compliance that Germany has decided to temporarily reestablish its border controls", said the press release of French Interior Ministry.

According to the press release, France also confirmed to receive 24 000 asylum seekers who need protection, including the 6, 275 that already arrived in France.

Besides, France said it was ready to receive urgently on its territory 1,000 Syrian and Iraqi asylum seekers at the request of Germany. Enditem
