A think tank called Our Hong Kong Foundation (OHKF) was founded here on Monday by Hong Kong's former Chief Executive Tung Chee-hwa.

With Tung serving as its chairman, the OHKF aims to offer multi- disciplinary public policy research and recommendations to the Hong Kong government, other public service agencies and the populace at large.

The foundation is a non-governmental and non-profit organization which pools local, Chinese mainland and international talents to study Hong Kong's short, medium and long-term development needs.

The focus will be on economic, financial, social, political, educational, environmental and other key issues; and through a host of coordinated activities, theOHKF seeks to foster social cohesion and build consensus across the community, making Hong Kong a better place to live.

Nobel Prize winner Yang Chen Ning, former Hong Kong Chief Justice Yang Ti-liang, 97-year-old master of Chinese culture Jao Tsung-i, and 85 other elites from different sectors formed the advisory group of the foundation.
