French Baguette as cultural treasure?

Along with the Eiffel Tower the baguette is a symbol of France.

About 6 million are sold daily in the country. But the traditional craft loaf is losing space.

To try to reverse that trend, the Confederation of French Bakers is taking action and wants the baguette to be added to the UN ranking of intangible treasures.
