(REUTERS) Taylor Swift wants Kanye West to know that it wasn’t him who made herFamous. While the mega-selling singer was accepting her Grammy for album of the year for1989, Swift took a second to send a message to the young women watching – and took a subtle jab at West.

“I want to say to all the young women out there – there are going to be people along the way who are going to try to undercut your success or take credit for your accomplishments or your fame,” she said on stage. “But if you just focus on the work and you don’t let those people sidetrack you, someday when you get where you’re going, you’ll look around and you’ll realise it was you.”

Swift was likely referring to a song West released recently, titledFamous. In it, he raps, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex. Why? I made that b***h famous.”

Earlier in the week, Swift’s representative issued a statement saying that West did not ask Swift permission to use the controversial line in the track, and claimed that Swift advised against releasing a song with such a “strong misogynistic message”. West, however, disputed those claims, tweeting that Swift indeed gave him her blessing and that she thought the line was “funny”.

West famously interrupted Swift in 2009 during the MTV Video Music Awards. The two, however, seemed like they had made up at last year’s Grammys.
