New head of WHO supports one-China policy

New Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said on Wednesday that he would abide by the one-China policy and deal with issues regarding Taiwan based on the World Health Assembly's decisions.

He made the remarks when he met with China’s Health and Family Planning Minister Li Bin, in his first bilateral meeting after his election.

Tedros, elected on Wednesday, also expressed willingness to deepen cooperation with China.
