The U.S Supreme Court’s new term begins on October 5.

Subject to her confirmation, conservative judge Amy Coney Barrett will replace liberal Ruth Bader Ginsburg following her death, though likely after the new term is underway.

And with a handful of the world’s biggest companies embroiled in forthcoming Supreme Court cases, Judge Coney Barrett's view of big business is of great interest to investors.

The addition of Amy Coney Barrett will give conservatives on the Supreme Court bench an unassailable 6-3 majority. And while conservatives in the U.S. typically support business interests, it doesn’t also follow that conservative justices will.
