Myanmar parliament approves signing agreements on ASEAN tourist secretariat, Japanese loan

Myanmar Union Parliament has approved signing agreement on establishing a regional secretariat for mutual recognition of ASEAN tourist experts, state-media reported Saturday.

The parliament also approved receiving the 10.5 billion Yen (88. 5 million U.S. dollars) loan for the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA), said the Global New Light of Myanmar.

The approvals were made during the ongoing 12th parliament session in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.

Signing the regional secretariat agreement can bring such benefits as enhanced capacity, competitiveness, cooperation for tourist promotion, lower restrictions, promotion of ASEAN region into a destination with international standards, development of tourist services and human resources development.

Meanwhile, Myanmar's parliament resumed its sessions of the House of Representatives (Lower House) and the House of Nationalities (Upper House) in Nay Pyi Taw on Monday.
