Seven dead, 40 missing in shipwreck in Brazil

Seven people, including one child, were dead after a vessel carrying 70 people sank in Xingu River area in northern Brazil on Tuesday night local time.

As of 11 a.m. local time, only 20 people were rescued and 40 others are missing.

Search and rescue operation is underway. The cause of the incident is under investigation.
