India Monday reiterated that it will hold no talks with Pakistan till the latter shuns cross- border terrorism.
"The HM (Home Minister Rajnath Singh) is of the firm opinion that terror and talks cannot go together. Unless Pakistan stops terrorism and violence, no dialogue is possible," the Indian Home Ministry said in a tweet.
The Home Ministry's statement came in the wake of media reports that Singh would meet his Pakistani counterpart on the sidelines of a South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation meet in Nepal later this month.
India had last month cancelled Foreign Secretary-level talks with Pakistan, accusing Islamabad of fuelling cross-border terrorism, and after Pakistan's envoy met separatist leaders of Indian-occupied Kashmir in the national capital.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi had accused Pakistan of using militants to wage "a proxy war" against India, however, charges were denied by Pakistan as "baseless."
