**PENOM PENH, Oct.17 (APD) -- **Cambodia and Thailand have agreed on linking marine tourism cooperation between the tourism ports of the two countries, a move to facilitate the tourists between the two ASEAN neighboring countries.
At the 4th meeting of Cambodia-Thailand Working Group on Tourism Cooperation held on Tuesday in Kampot province of Cambodia led by Arrun Boonchai, permanent secretary of Ministry of Tourism and Sports accepted the Cambodia’s proposals to discuss on opening more border gates in the soon future.
Thong Rathsak, director-general of Tourism Development and International Cooperation, told reporters after the meeting that the cooperation on marine tourism will connnect Koh Samui of Surathany province of Thailand to International Tourism Port of Kampot province.
Mr. Rathsak said that opening more border gates will help facilitate the flow of tourists between the two countries.
“Provinces –Preah Vihear, Pursat, Uddor Meanchey, and other provinces that share border to Thailand have proposed to Thailand to open more border gates due to a remarkable increase in both domestic and foreign tourists,” Mr. Rathsak said.
The meeting on working group on tourism cooperation was held a day ahead of the second tourism ministers meeting between Cambodia and Thailand which is held on Wednesday at Kampot province.
