Moscow warned on Monday that new US sanctions on Russia would hit the interests of both sides.
It
came as the US House of Representatives is to vote on Tuesday on a bill
targeting Russia for meddling in the 2016 US presidential election and
for its annexation of Crimea from Ukraine in 2014. The White House has
said President Donald Trump is weighing his decision to sign off on the
move.
Meanwhile, Reuters sources in Brussels said
Germany is pushing the European Union for wider sanctions on Moscow.
Berlin wants to add around four more Russian nationals and companies to
the bloc's blacklist. The EU could discuss the matter as soon as
Wednesday.
The bloc has already barred its firms from
doing business in Crimea and has curbed its cooperation with Russia in
energy, arms and finance.
