BANGKOK, Mar.16 (APD) - Thai Airways International(THAI) will not sell business class tickets to passengers with waist bigger than 56 inches on its Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Pratthana Pattanasirim, THAI’s director of security and flight standard division explained on Thursday that the business class seats of the Dreamliner planes that THAI received in last September have been installed with the new safety belts and an airbag system, thus passengers with a waistline of over 56 inches, as well as those traveling with an infant won't be able to fasten the seatbelt.
He said people with waistline more than 56 inches and those who carries an infant can still fly economic class on THAI's new Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
Pratthana added that the seat belt meets aviation safety standard required by the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration.
His clarification came after THAI announced the new regulation in early March, which draws compliant on social media.
According to THAI, the two Dreamliner planes are used on routes namely Bangkok-Aukland, Bangkok-Taipei.
