Deforestation in the Amazon surged to its highest rate since 2008 ​this summer,according to official figures.

Brazil is under heavy pressure from theinternationalcommunity to halt the destruction but current signs are not promising.

Our correspondent Paulo Cabral traveled to one of the areas with thehighestrate ​ofdestruction in the state of Para to take a closer look.
