The Chinese Tennis Association (CTA) Tour, a tennis competition series for domestic players, will kick off on August 1, the organizing committee announced on Thursday.
The first event of the tour will take place in the city of Anning, southwest China's Yunnan Province, from August 1-8. Top Chinese players, including women's world No. 29 Wang Qiang, will compete in the clay court tournament.
Two-time Grand Slam winner Li Na will also attend the event as the tour's ambassador.
Due to COVID-19 concerns, all matches in Anning will be played behind closed doors, with all players, coaches and other working staff required to take nucleic acid tests and confined to a sealed-off area, according to the organizers.
