Mushfiqur Rahim feels the performance in the Twenty20 International tri-series in Sri Lanka are signs that Bangladesh are improving in the shortest format.

Rahim was in good touch in the tournament and helped Bangladesh reach the final of the tri-series. He helped the team script the fourth-highest run chase in the history of T20Is and took the team past the target of 214 against Sri Lanka. That game also played a crucial role in Bangladesh's run to the final before they lost to India in a last-ball thriller. Needing five off the last ball, Dinesh Karthik struck a six to lead India to a four-wicket win.

Bangladesh, however, showed they are more than capable of playing an aggressive brand of cricket. While Shakib al Hasan, the Test and T20I captain, hailed the side, Rahim acknowledged there's still some work left to be done.

"To be honest, we have not become that good a side in T20s till now. There are some things which we can improve upon and our team management and coaching staff are looking at those things." he pointed out on Monday (March 19). "At least there was this confidence that we were doing well in ODI and Test formats the last few years and on our day we can beat anyone. I think in T20s we are slowly gaining that confidence as well.

"We made it to the final and in that respect it does feel good but it is natural that everyone will feel bad after the defeat. But we feel we will take the experience forward and make it count in the upcoming future."
