Lebanese President Michel Suleiman hailed Sunday the security forces' efforts in identifying car bombs in advance and those militants involved in firing rockets and planting booby traps.

Suleiman's commendation came after the security forces seized on Saturday a car loaded with 250 kgs of explosives near the municipality building in Naameh region of Mount Lebanon.

The car, with fake number plate, was carrying five barrels of TNT, fuses and a detonator, according to the Internal Security Forces.

The president meanwhile said that investigations into the Ruwais bombing must end with apprehending all those involved and bringing them to justice.

On Thursday, a booby-trapped car exploded near Ruwais district in Hezbollah's stronghold in southern Beirut, killing 27 people and injuring at least 292 others.
