General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered a report to the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China on Oct 18. Several Chinese entrepreneurs told The Beijing News that the report has given them direction for future development. Let us take a look at their views.

The report has pointed out the future direction for us and is a promise and an obligation the Party has made to the people and to history, said Jack Ma, chairman of Alibaba Group.

Ma said that, as entrepreneurs, they should be the pivotal force to help ease "unbalanced and inadequate" development to meet "people's ever-growing needs for a better life".

"The report, which stated that the original aspiration and the mission of Chinese Communists is to seek happiness for the Chinese people and rejuvenation for the Chinese nation, signifies the Communist Party of China's lofty pursuit and great spirit," said Liu Chuanzhi, chairman of Legend Holdings.

Legend Holdings will keep the Party's and the government's requirements in mind and will innovate bravely to make breakthroughs, said Liu, who is also Party secretary of Legend Holdings.

He added that Legend Holdings would actively take part in the country's reform of business systems and give full play to the pivotal role of investment in boosting the real economy and will help build a multilevel capital market.

Statements such as "We should pursue supply-side structural reform as our main task and work hard for better quality, higher efficiency and more robust drivers of economic growth through reform" from the report have pointed out the future development direction for JD.com and contain thorough guidance for the whole internet sector, said Liu Qiangdong, chairman of JD.com.

JD.com, as an innovative company integrating the real and digital economies, will stick to quality as its lifeline and will keep providing better products and services, Liu added.

"JD.com will also help its upstream and downstream companies improve efficiency and cut costs, leveraging its advantages in data, marketing and its capacity in managing its supply chain and logistics," Liu said.

"After carefully listening to General Secretary Xi Jinping's address to the 19th CPC National Congress, I was cheered up, encouraged and full of confidence," said Zhang Jindong, chairman of Suning Holdings Group.

He said Suning, guided by the goal of building "a moderately prosperous society in all respects", will actively participate in the country's efforts to reduce poverty.

Guided by the goal of building a "modernized economy", Suning will stick to the mindset that technological innovation drives development and will implement a smart retail model in the running of its business.

CEO and Founder of Didi Chuxing Cheng Wei said Xi's report specifically mentioned building "an ecological civilization" and spurring "the development of energy-saving and environmental protection industries as well as clean production and clean energy industries."

"There are 200,000 new energy vehicles on Didi's platform and this number will exceed 1 million, which will have significant meaning for environmental protection," said Chen.

"Didi tries to meet the people's needs for mobility to the largest extent via technological means and its innovative carpooling model, and Didi will build a smart urban transportation system together with city management officials," he added.

Ping An Insurance (Group) Company of China Chairman Ma Mingzhe said Xi's report has showed the development direction and goal for the finance sector and for Ping An.

A total of 110 billion yuan ($16.6 billion) in insurance funds of the group have been invested in the real economy and 2 trillion yuan, in deal value, of the group's banking credit funds have been used to support infrastructure building and upgrading of pillar industries, according to Ma.

Ping An will stay true to its original aspiration, keep improving its ability in serving the real economy and make its own contributions to national rejuvenation, Ma said.

"After learning of the report General Secretary Xi Jinping delivered to the 19th CPC National Congress, I was very excited," said Sun Taoran, chairman of Lakala Group. "This report clearly stated 'there must be no irresolution about working to encourage, support, and guide the development of the non-public sector' and stated 'innovation is the primary force driving development.'"

"I firmly believe the future environment for enterprises will be better, guided by this report," Sun said. Lakala Group, a payment service provider, has a 12-year history of operations.

Zhang Dongning, chairman of the Bank of Beijing, said the report is a "programmatic document" in realizing China's national rejuvenation.

Guided by this report, the Bank of Beijing will comprehensively serve the real economy, focus on financial reform and control financial risks, Zhang said. The chairman also serves as Party secretary of the bank.
