Chinese mainland reports 24 new confirmed COVID-19 cases

The Chinese mainland recorded 24 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 on Tuesday, one of which was a local transmission reported in southwestern Yunnan Province while the 23 others were from overseas, the latest data from the National Health Commission showed on Wednesday.

In addition, nine new asymptomatic cases, all from overseas, were recorded on Tuesday, while 464 asymptomatic patients remain under medical observation.

This brings the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland to 92,119, with the death toll unchanged at 4,636.

The total number of confirmed cases in the Hong Kong and Macao special administrative regions and the Taiwan region is as follows:

Hong Kong: 11,952 (11,665 recoveries, 212 deaths)

Macao: 55 (53 recoveries)

Taiwan: 15,302 (11,901 recoveries, 747 deaths)
