Indonesian Labor Minister Muhaimin Iskandar on Tuesday urged laborers to avoid violence and convey their aspiration peacefully as the ministry has strived to comply with their demands.

He made the remarks following massive protests over pay-hike and outsourcing, drawing concern among investors.

"Protests are allowed, but should not be done excessively to make investment climate worse," he said.

On Nov. 23 all the provinces are expected to make their decision on increasing minimum wage in accordance with the specific situation, he said.

Over 20,000 protesters plan to rally outside Presidential Palace on Thursday to promote their demand, according to Heri Purwanto, secretary general of the national labor organization.
